A Real Superhero

On Tuesday evening my family and I finally watched Avengers: Endgame. The movie was released a while ago, so it shouldn’t be too much of a spoiler to say that a couple of superheroes died in the movie. It’s sad when people die, even fictional characters, but at least these characters died saving the world. That’s why people watch superhero movies: to see the world saved.

Afterward, we checked the news to find out how Super Tuesday’s vote had gone. We learned that Elizabeth Warren had done poorly in the polls. Very poorly. I knew at that moment that her campaign was over, and it felt almost like a continuation of the film, as if another superhero had died. Only she was real, and the saddest thing about her demise is that the world didn’t allow her to save it first.
