Day 190: Rage Donating

Last night I flipped Mitch McConnell the bird, and I still feel good about it. To everyone telling me that I shouldn’t have “wasted” my money on that race because McGrath can’t win, or because she doesn’t need the money, or because somehow other candidates deserve it more, just shut up. First, you don’t get to tell me how to spend my money. Second, you’ve missed the point. The point was to send McConnell a message, and the point was to hold on to hope. If that means McGrath now has carte blanche in terms of campaign spending, all the better. You just never know which dollar might turn the tide. And third, my donation to McGrath does not preclude me from supporting other candidates, which leads me to my next paragraph….

Today, after Lindsey Graham’s hypocritical though not unexpected announcement, I flipped him the bird by sending a donation to Jaime Harrison. Tomorrow I’m thinking of flipping McSally the bird. Then I think I’ll make another donation every day of the week in honor of RBG. And after that, well, I’m not sure what I’ll do, but I doubt my rage will have been assuaged yet, so I’ll have to find some other way of expressing it.

My postcard writing right now is for McGrath, so I’m with you.

I would so love to see her win. I know the odds are against her, but that doesn’t mean we should concede the race. It just means we should fight harder.
