I think he&#8217;s going to like it.<\/p>\n<p>Second, I got some new sheet music.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/delivery.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10723\" alt=\"delivery\" src=\"http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/delivery-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/delivery-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/delivery-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/delivery.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been trying to learn &#8220;Des Abends,&#8221; which is one of the pieces in Schumann&#8217;s <em>Fantasiest\u00fccke<\/em>. The sheet music that I had been using was jumbled. This Henle urtext edition is so much easier to read, plus it contains another eleven pieces that might also be fun to play.<\/p>\n<p>The Czerny book is a collection of exercises that will, I hope, get my fingers into better shape. These pieces are not exactly melodic, but at least they present an interesting challenge, unlike the Hanon (yawn) and scales (yawn) that I usually play to warm up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two fun things came in the mail today.
