It&#8217;s not because of grade inflation, but rather because I don&#8217;t have time to read bad books. If I don&#8217;t enjoy the book right away, it goes in the donation pile. <em>Snow Falling on Cedars<\/em>, for example, went into the donation pile almost immediately. I&#8217;ll never know if it was truly as bad as it started out to be.
