It is one thing to have a car and only use it when you really need it. Then being at home is a choice, and you can even pat yourself on the back for being virtuous. It is something else to be without a car. Then you’re stuck at home, and it feels like prison. When I complained about it this morning, my husband said, “After I get home, I’ll take you anywhere you need to go.” I gnashed my teeth at him. He was completely missing the point.
