{"id":1667,"date":"2010-01-09T10:13:20","date_gmt":"2010-01-09T15:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/?p=1667"},"modified":"2010-01-09T11:53:04","modified_gmt":"2010-01-09T16:53:04","slug":"1667","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bluefootedmusings.com\/?p=1667","title":{"rendered":"The Small Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Small, but good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Smell<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> A nicely scented soap that does exactly what it is supposed to do, which is to clean your hands while providing a pleasant olfactory experience.<\/li>\n<li>The smell of winter clinging to my hubby when he comes in from the outside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sound<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> The satisfying sizzle of scrambled eggs meeting hot, buttered pan.<\/li>\n<li> Wind chimes&#8212;possibly the nicest thing left behind by the previous owners of the house.<\/li>\n<li> The delightfully creepy rasp of dead leaves on a tree when you&#8217;re alone in the woods.<\/li>\n<li>The crunch of snow underfoot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Taste<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Leftover Christmas cookies. They should have been stale and gross, but were somehow moist and yummy. I don&#8217;t want to know how that was accomplished.<\/li>\n<li>Lemony gunpowder tea&#8212;best morning pick-me-up in the world.<\/li>\n<li>Avocado on a hamburger. Mmm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sight<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Snow falling in the woods.<\/li>\n<li>Icicles hanging on rocks.<\/li>\n<li> Joyfully erratic animal tracks in the snow.<\/li>\n<li>My son&#8217;s wet, toothy, adorable smile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Touch<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Soft, warm slippers on chilled feet.<\/li>\n<li> A hot shower.<\/li>\n<li>A backrub from my hubby.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Small, but good.
