Back in March I was offered the challenge<\/a> of coming up with a list of favorite books with one-word titles. I never got around to posting my list. Oops. But here it is now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman (favorite one-word Gaiman)<\/li>
  2. “Heidi” by Johanna Spyri (children’s classic)<\/li>
  3. “Grass” by Sheri S. Tepper (for people who like thoughtful and slightly disturbing science fiction)<\/li>
  4. “Nemesis” by Agatha Christie (one of Christie’s best Miss Marple mysteries)<\/li>
  5. “Horns” by Joe Hill (for the horror crowd)<\/li>
  6. “Emma” by Jane Austen (for the Austen crowd)<\/li>
  7. “Dune” by Frank Herbert (must-read sci-fi)<\/li>
  8. “Matilda” by Roald Dahl (children’s classic)<\/li>
  9. “Holes” by Louis Sachar (surprisingly sweet YA novel)<\/li>
