I keep thinking that because I have failed many times at a thing it must mean that I will never succeed. It’s not unreasonable to think that way, but it’s not smart. If I had thought that way ten years ago, I would not have quit smoking. I gave it up cold turkey! And it’s not like I hadn’t tried quitting before. I had. I had thrown away lighters and ashtrays and sworn solemn vows never to buy another pack of cigarettes, but I did buy cigarettes again. And again and again, until one day I somehow managed to quit for good.<\/p>\n
