I am a quiet and non-confrontational person. Consequently I try to avoid talking about political issues, particularly among people with whom I’m likely to disagree. But sometimes I end up in those kinds of conversations despite my best efforts. When that happens, I try to state my opinions in a way that is polite and that uses reasoned arguments to persuade.
