That&#8217;s why Orson Scott Card&#8217;s <em>How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy<\/em> is a rare gem, a book about writing that not only describes the tools of the trade but also gives an illuminating glimpse into the creative process.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m always hesitant to give an A+, but this book has amazed me twice. I couldn&#8217;t believe how good it was the first time and then when I read it again as part of the Great Library Purge, I was bowled over a second time.
