I thought I’d read all of Vonnegut’s best, so it was a wonderful surprise to find so much to like in Bluebeard<\/em>. I wish I still had the book handy so I could refresh my memory before writing this post and maybe even select a few good passages to share. Alas, the library insisted that I return the book and so I did.<\/p>\n

Bluebeard<\/em> is about a retired painter who, like the infamous Bluebeard of lore, keeps something big hidden in a locked room. The secret gives the book a little bit of a mystery, which is unusual for Vonnegut, but fun. You don’t know what’s going to be in that room. Will it be dead bodies? Or will it be something completely different? I won’t spoil it for you. You’ll have to read it yourself to find out.<\/p>\n

The last couple of weeks have been so crazy that everything else has been overshadowed, including this book. Like it though I did, I don’t think I got as much out of it as I could have. I hope that I get a chance to reread it someday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
