Day 60: Vain Sacrifice

We’ve now had sixty days of staying home. I wish I could say it was worthwhile, that our country’s collective sacrifice had given us an advantage in the fight against the coronavirus. But, with all the news of states opening up, people massing without masks and acting as if the crisis were over, doctors and nurses still overworked and undersupplied, and high new death toll estimates, I think more likely the government pissed away our chance and there will be much more suffering to come. Over 83,000 Americans have died from the virus as of today. How many more will have to pay the ultimate sacrifice for Trump’s greed and incompetence?
