I ordered 20 books from the library last week, and they arrived today. Hooray! According to our library receipt, we saved $300 by borrowing rather than buying. Isn’t the library awesome?
But I haven’t forgotten how the library shut down without warning earlier this year. It was understandable given the circumstances, and I’m certainly not mad about it, but I learned a valuable lesson: always keep plenty of books on hand! So, in a few weeks I will probably put in another large order. I don’t expect the library to close again, given how well masks and social distancing seem to work, but I’m not taking any chances!
