Day 301: Too Little, Too Late

Today Donald Trump was permanently banned from Twitter. To me this seems a lot like locking the barn door after the horse has bolted and after the rest of the barn has burned down. Similarly, some Republicans have started to call for his removal. They had plenty of chances before, though, not only during his impeachment, but every single day for four years. They could have stood up to him, declared his actions unethical, pushed for his removal. But they didn’t, and even if he’s somehow removed before his term expires, the damage has already been done. Sure, it’s nice that certain people are finally doing and saying the right things, but they also need to do something to fix the damage that they enabled.
