Late August Happenings

On Wednesday I had a dentist’s appointment. The dentist did all the prep for the new crown. For me, it was an hour of torture. Even though he gave me Novocaine, the work was murder on my gums, and that side of my mouth is still tender. For now I have a temporary crown. I’ll get the permanent one in September.
The kids started school on Thursday. I didn’t get up with them because Livia told me not to bother. I was sleeping so heavily that morning that, amazingly, I didn’t even hear them leave. I could not have hoped for a better start to the school year.
My husband and I caught some of Thursday night’s lunar eclipse. The sky was both misty and cloudy, but the clouds cleared just enough for us to see the hazy moon reduced to a sliver.
We were supposed to go to an open house on Sunday. In the morning we were were running late, the sky was pouring rain, and clearly my hubby wasn’t in the mood for house shopping, so I canceled our trip. It made me sad. The season is over and we still haven’t found our getaway.
