Day 122: Pandemic Reading

I am currently reading Daniel Silva’s The Rembrandt Affair. I had seen it on a list of recommended reading, and I was able to purchase a used copy at a reasonable price. I had hoped for something heist-y, but it’s more spy-y. It’s a very serious sort of book, with plot lines involving Nazis and Holocaust victims, and it’s written in a style that is, basically, reportage. I don’t typically read thrillers, so I don’t know if this book is a typical example of the genre, but I suspect that it is. I’m not loving it, but I’m also not hating it. It’s making me feel that I’ve broken out of my reading bubble a bit and that that’s a good thing. I’m about 3/4 of the way through, and I hope to finish it by the end of the week.
